Site Safety Plus  ss-small

The ConstructionSkills Site Safety Plus scheme has been designed to provide the building, civil engineering and allied industries with a framework for training and career development.  The scheme is aimed at all levels of the workforce.

The Scheme recognises a natural progression from those first entering the industry to those responsible for managing construction work.

A series of courses has been developed to fit into the ConstructionSkills Site Safety Plus framework.  This starts with a 1 Day Health and Safety Awareness course which many candidates find useful preparation for the ConstructionSkills Health & Safety Test (the certificate from the 1 Day HSA course can also be used to support applications for the CSCS Green Labourer Card), and then progresses to an intermediate level for those taking on supervisory responsibilities through the 2 Day Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme course (SSSTS).

The Site Management Safety Training Scheme (5 Day SMSTS Course) is designed to assist site managers and potential site managers in developing knowledge, awareness and understanding of their legal, moral and social responsibilities for health, safety and welfare on construction sites.

The 2 Day SSSTS and 5 Day SMSTS courses are supported by Build UK members (formerly known as the Major Contractors Group and UK Contractors Group) and are very often a contractual requirement on member sites.
