SMSTS - Site Manager Safety Training Scheme (Part of Construction Skills “Site Safety Plus” Suite of Courses) Duration 5 days Target Audience Site managers, agents and persons who are, or are about to be, responsible for planning, organising, monitoring, controlling or administering groups of staff and workforce. Aims & Objectives To help site managers, agents and supervisors to: Manage health & safety on site in accordance with current legal provisions, and within the context of their management or supervisory role Develop an understanding of responsibilities and accountability for site health, safety and welfare Recognise that a safe site is efficient, economical and productive Delegates will, at the end of the training, be aware of and able to: Implement all health, safety, welfare and environmental legislation which affects them during their work Implement new guidance and industry best practice State their duties and responsibilities with regards to health, safety, welfare and the environment Publications Candidates will be issued a copy of GE700 – Site Safety Simplified and the course study notes. Assessment Candidates will be assessed through 3 Core Exercises and an end of course examination. Certification Certificates are issued by Construction Skills and are valid for 5 years.
SSSTS Training
SMSTS Training - The site management safety training scheme is a five day course designed for site managers or anyone responsible for the planning, organising, monitoring, controlling or administering groups of staff, operatives or site workers. SMSTS Training - Site Management Safety Training Scheme is designed to facilitate construction health and safety. The SMSTS training certificate lasts for five years, after which candidates must sit the two day SMSTS Refresher course to renew the certificate and keep their qualification up to date. SMSTS is a five day course trains each individual in the essential points of Health and Safety and shows them how to measure Health and Safety performance on their own site. Site management training and safe site supervision is critical to site safety and equally important is the level of safety awareness of the entire workforce on a construction site.
SMSTS Courses
This SMSTS training provides the skills to safely run a construction site. SMSTS training is valid for five years before it must be renewed. The two-day Refresher SMSTS training course is only available for candidates who have attended the full five-day training course and can provide evidence of attending the original course. The SMSTS courses focus on the need for risk assessment in the workplace, the implementation of necessary control measures and adequate communication to sustain a safe practice in the workplace. At the end of the course, each individual has to pass a multiple choice test which qualifies them for the Construction Site Managers Safety Certificate.
